BREEDING TIME IS OVER! I'm exhausted!

Well, a week later, along with much effort on my part, we have finally had a successful breeding time.  (Well, they all mated.)

Farrah
Ended up getting Farrah's mom to pick her up for a couple of days because she wasn't ready and I didn't need another dog to haul around, until she was.

Trixie
While she was gone, I was able to take all of the dogs to work, enjoyed a more relaxing weekend and Trixie and Walker mated.

Got Farrah back on Monday and she and Walker bred immediately.  She coerced me into letting her spend the night and they bred again in the morning.  Her mom picked her up last night.  Walker searched everywhere and whined throughout the house.  Farrah is coming back tomorrow morning.  We'll try again, before Walker goes home.

Farrah's back!
I think Walker prefers it here.  He's treated like a pet, gets to sleep in the bed, run throughout the house and hang out with everyone, all day long. My dogs have dog beds everywhere.  They can take a quick nap or tuck into a soft sided / portable dog crate, at any time.

Trixie sleepy time.
Walker pooped out!
I'm sorry to say that he'll be going back to his home tomorrow, where he and his parents are going to be in for a major shock.  He is so sweet and cuddly.  Between him and Farrah, my dogs are way passed jealous.  They're peeved and waiting to make sure that everyone goes home.
Trixie's tuckered out.
I HAVE TO LEAVE?
Oh well, back to the real world.  Walker has quite a few siblings.  They just have to stay in their crates, most of the time.  His parents aren't fortunate enough to be able to work out of their homes.  I think that's easier on the parents, for sure!

Crossing our fingers, we'll wait to see if we have two (2) pregnant dogs.

Stay tuned!

Dogs Love KONA's Dog Treats!

We got our box of dog treats and I can't tell you how much my dogs LOVE them!

My dogs have always preferred chicken treats and have turned up their nose at most other flavors. That's not the case with KONA's products.  They not only ate the chicken jerky but they thoroughly enjoyed the lamb and sweet potato, just as well!

Walker and Farrah liked them, as well.

I'll give them a different treat, to taste, later this week.

Once again, KONA'S products are SAFE, U.S. manufactured treats!

DOG TREATS FROM CHINA! Get Some USA Treat Samples for $1.00!

WATCH OUT FOR THOSE DOG TREATS FROM CHINA!  CHECK YOUR CABINETS AND PANTRY NOW!

I went to help my mother pack for her move, to a new home.  We were going thru the normal closets, linen closets, coat closets, kitchen cabinets etc.

We came to a small closet that seemed to be a very organized, I must add, closet for miscellaneous things.  One of the things was a 'stack' of dog treats. I quickly started grabbing all the treat bags to see where they were manufactured.

I FOUND (4) BAGS OF TREATS THAT HAD TO BE THROWN OUT!

My own mother isn't paying attention to the dangers of these dog treats.  Is anyone else?

With each article that I have written on the subject (3 so far), people are commenting that had NEVER HEARD OF THE PROBLEM!

Okay, I'd like to make myself clear...

'CHICKEN JERKY, CHICKEN STRIPS, whatever they decide to call it, is KILLING OUR DOGS!

Look at ALL of your dog treats.  Check for the MANUFACTURERS LABEL not the Distributor.  All of the distributors are in the USA.  That means nothing.

THROW OUT ALL OF YOUR TOXIC TREATS!  SIGN THE PETITION!!!

Go to ...the PetitionSite.com.  Over 23,000 people have signed this petition to ban these DEADLY products from our shelves, so far.

Emma 'Miss Fannie' Came For a Short Vacation!

I'm happy to say that Trixie had a wonderful time with her daughter, Emma (now Miss Fannie), last month.  Holly was right there in the mix!
Trixie, Miss Fannie and Holly

Her parents went on a short trip and she stayed with us for 3-4 nights.  It wasn't long enough, as far as Trixie and Miss Fannie were concerned.  It only took them a second to remember each other.

It was non-stop playtime, here.  They had a lot of fun and when it came to the rest of the gang, she quickly fell in line.
It wasn't as vicious as it looks!

As they left, they told me of some of their rules.  They were funny!  The parents and the rules!  They wanted her in bed by 10:00pm etc. and so on.
Miss Fannie & Me

I told them that she was with her grandmother and the same rules applied for four (4) legged grandchildren as the two (2) legged variety.

THE GRANDMOTHER SPOILS THE CHILDREN AND THEN GIVES THEM BACK!

Her parents periodically received pictures and their daughter would add comments.  She squealed on me!  She didn't tell me that she wasn't allowed on the couch, bed etc.  Oh well!
Asleep on couch.
Pillow fight!
Everyone had a wonderful time and we're looking forward to her next visit, this month.

All Pooped Out!

Thank you to Tanya and Duan for entrusting her with me.  It was good to see how much she'd grown and how sweet and well behaved she was.

I don't think I did any permanent damage.  She was very happy to see her two (2) legged parents, again!

BREEDING TIME?!

Trixie is trying to go in heat again.  I say trying because she hasn't come 'full cycle'.  I lined up Walker (stud), just in case.  They made beautiful puppies before and one (1) couple would like to add another pup to their family.  They adopted Emma, from the last litter. (Her name is now Miss Fannie.)

Walker
OF COURSE LIFE CAN'T BE THAT SIMPLE!

I received a call from a woman who adopted a puppy from me a year and a half ago.  When she adopted 'Iris', who is now 'Farrah' (I know, this name thing KILLS ME!) she agreed to breed Iris once and I would get 'pick of the litter'. She felt that Farrah was ready, to be bred.

I picked up Farrah and Walker, yesterday.  I thought that I had this all figured out.  Farrah would be bred first.  Then she could go home.  At that time, Trixie would be ready and I'd breed her.

That's not going as planned.  Farrah is not ready and neither is Trixie.
We are biding our time...In the interim, I am holding down the fort with eight (8) dogs!

They didn't allow me to get much sleep last night.  First I tried Farrah in a crate, Walker in the bathroom and the rest with me.  Walker cried and had all of mine whining and barking.  Hoping to get better sleep, I let both of them out and allowed them with me and the rest of the gang.

Although that was a little better, I was still woken up, twice more, before morning.  They did allow me to sleep until 9ish.  I'm hoping tonight will be better.

Everyone is playing nicely but Farrah doesn't stay still for very long and Walker is not far behind.

All of my dogs are used to lying around, while I work or whatever.  They follow me from room to room but they're used to most of the noises, in the house.

Farrah has become a bit of a barker.  I don't remember her being like that.  I'm trying to curb that behavior, quickly.

Walker was here a couple months back, to see Holly.  Unfortunately, Holly did not get pregnant.  We won't be having holiday puppies, as hoped.  On the good side, Walker is very quiet.

I won't be taking everyone to work with me, this week.  I guess I'll take the three (3) that need to be bred, along with Abby of course.  The other dogs are not going to be happy with this decision.  I haven't told them about it yet.

There are two (2) other paps that are at work, daily.  I can't be worried about who is doing what and where.  I do need to keep an eye on Farrah and Trixie.  We'll see which one is ready to be bred first.

I always like to witness the 'deed', several times, so that I'm comfortable in predicting that puppies are to come.

I'll attempt to do a better job with my updates.

Hope we have positive results.  If so, these puppies would be available for their 'FOREVER HOMES', the middle of February.

Writing Articles

I've recently been asked to write various articles on different dog topics.  This has been challenging and quite time consuming.

You can find some of them on my dog product website topdogpicks.com.  To view all of them, please check on Squidoo, HubPages and Ezine. Reference topdogpicks.

If there is a subject that you'd like me to research and write a specific article about, I would be happy to do so.

I'm always looking for more direction and suggestions!

Thank you for your input!
