Why it’s Important to get Pet Insurance and three great tips on how to do it!

When we think of taking care of our family we always make sure that we can provide them with the best care possible. We search for the best and healthy food, clothing to keep everyone warm and a comfortable home. This goes to without saying that that includes our four legged family members too!
One of the most important things to consider when providing for our family is insurance. We insure our homes, our cars and ourselves and it’s just as important that we insure our furry family member as well.

Why do you need pet Insurance?
Have you ever gone to the vet with an emergency? Well, I have, my Cat Max became ill quiet suddenly and I had to rush him to his vet at once. First, I can tell you that Max is no fan of the vet and getting him in his crate while he was in pain is something that I still have the scars. However the vet bill that I received that day seriously damaged my bank account too.  I didn’t have pet insurance and Max was prescribed and required ongoing treatment. If he didn’t get the treatment, he would die.
I stood there with tears in my eyes, my cat was sick and the cost to make him well was going to cost 1000’s of dollars. So the only recourse I had was to use Mr. Visa as my insurance provider to help my cat become well.
I wouldn’t recommend using a credit card to pay for expensive vet procedures. It took me over 8 months to pay it off and I also had to skip buying that new computer I wanted.
However I learned a valuable lesson and made sure when I got Maggie, she would be insured the day I brought her home. Now I was new to pet insurance so I took these simple steps to insure that I had the best care coverage for Maggie.

How to get pet Insurance that is right for you and your pet
1. Ask
·         Ask your Vet if there is a policy he likes
·         Check and ask your friends who have pets what policy that they use and like
·         Post  a question on your favorite dog forum
2. Research
·         There are great comparison sites that compare the various pet policies. Make sure you see what the costs, terms, and what illness they provide.
·         How they provide coverage, is it per illness, per year or on going?
3. Choose the right level of cover for your pet and budget
·         Get Insurance for your pet while they are young and fit. Some insurance companies will not cover your pet if they already have had a health issue.
·         If your dog is a pedigree, is there specific health needs?
·         What are your standard vet bills in your area?
·         Do you live in an area where your dog may be exposed to a particular risk?
·         Will the policy cover the best level of care for my pet?
·         How much excess are you willing to pay?
I have had pet insurance for Maggie for over 5 years and I’m happy to announce that I never have had to use it for anything major. However her insurance has paid for her shots that she needed to go to the United Kingdom, It paid for three emergency visits to the vet when she was a puppy and I was a nervous and new pet mum, Maggie was fine. Lastly, it helped with her treatment when she got a bladder infection. Each time I was not a bundle of nerves and scared to see the vet bill, I knew I had Maggie’s wagging tail covered.

Meet the NEW PARENTS!

People ask me why and how I can breed my Papillons, devote so much time to the adorable, furry puppies and then let them go.
(Each of these parents has spent up to 9 hours with me.)

It is because of families, like this, that I  AM able to do it...

 I AM PROUD TO INTRODUCE

THE PARENTS!

***Here's 'Fletcher' (Cosmo)***

He is living with his mom and dad, in Marietta, GA.

Fletcher leaves for his NEW HOME
Fletcher loves his new daddy!

Fletcher likes to rest @ daddy's feet, on his shoes.
Fletcher is a happy boy, when mommy and daddy are BOTH home!

From the 1st night, that he was in his new home, Fletcher had daddy wrapped around his little paw.  He was crying and dad let him out of his crate and slept with him, all night.  Fletcher has been sleeping, in mom and dad's bed, ever since!

He likes to ride in the car and go on mini excursions.

Fletcher spends most of his time with dad, since mom has other responsibilities, a few hours a week.

He's daddy's little boy, for sure!
(It is suspected that daddy may be sneaking him into the grocery, Target, Walmart ...  Dad doesn't like his baby to cry.)

Fletcher likes naps, too!

Thank you, for keeping in touch and for all of the WONDERFUL pictures!
We are looking forward to his stay over Memorial Day weekend and for 2 1/2 weeks in June, as well!

(I have a feeling that there aren't any rules, that I can break, while you are gone!)

***Here's Calli***

 (Ginger)

She's living with her new mom and dad in Acworth, GA

Calli loves her new home!
Trixie checked out Calli's new mom, before she let her little girl leave.

Looks like pajamas time!

More beautiful every day!

NOT staring, trying to share!

Calli runs around the table, as if she is corralling sheep or in this case, humans!

She likes to watch the birds, out the window.

Calli with her new best friend, Maggie.

Calli enjoys her bath time and does an EXCELLENT JOB with a TOWEL!

Thank you for your texts, videos and pictures.
I hope to set up a 'play date', soon!

**Here's Domingo 'Mingo'** (Buttons)
He is living in North Carolina
with his NEW mom and dad.

Mingo loves to sit with mom and easily takes to new friends!

He sneaks the cat food, when he can!
'Mingo' is a mommy's boy!

Domingo's mom calls her 'human' daughter, who lives in Atlanta, quite often.

They adore and are truly thrilled with their little "Mingo"!

Although, he is further away,  they send numerous pictures, WHICH I LOVE!

 ***Here's Satyr***

 (Blaze)

He is living in Dunwoody, GA with his new mom, dad and stepbrother.

Satyr loves to snuggle in his mother's coat.

He LIKES to go to the vet.  He gets lots of attention
He quickly managed the stairs.

Satyr's stepbrother came to see all of the puppies.

Satyr is hysterical.

This email had me laughing.  I had to share, so that everyone else could have a laugh, TOO...

Satyr has two favorite "toys"
His inside toy is a small football that squeaks. After retrieving the football and making a touchdown, he howls with the ball in his mouth. You can't help but to giggle.
His outside "toys" are pinecones.  Yes, pinecones.  You have to toss the pinecone he brings you.  If he can't find it, he'll bring another that is suitable.  You can't do this is any area of the yard, there is a pinecone zone.  If you throw a pinecone outside of the zone, he whimpers and will retrieve a new pinecone.

He has divided up the backyard into zones.
Obviously, the pinecone zone and there is a potty zone, the birdchasing zone, the pick up sticks zone and the running like a mad man zone.  He will not do any of the above behaviors outside of his designated zones.

He likes to be close by, no matter who is doing what or where.

I appreciate your pictures, stories & especially your 'training classes'.
I hope to see you, when the weather gets a little warmer!

***Here's Molly***

 (Kinsey)

She is living in Smyrna, GA, with her new mom and dad.

Molly with Mom and Dad

Molly is still busy, writing her blog HOWEVER she has progressed and wants a TOUCH SCREEN!

Dad lets her hang out, while he works.
Molly loves her favorite toys!

Roaming and checking out her new sticks!

Napping with Mom
Molly plays hard and rough!

Working with Dad

Molly picks up nuts, from outside and plays and plays...

Although still small (3.1 lbs), Molly is still as feisty as ever!  She plays rough and hard and then 'crashes'.   Molly always tinkles in the leaves, never on the grass, which is very considerate of her to allow the grass to stay green!  While outside, however, anything that isn't bigger than her, goes in her mouth.
We WILL have to watch this more closely, as the plants and flowers begin to grow in (SEE BELOW)!

Molly is hoping to release her memoirs, this Spring!

Thank you for the updates!  If you need a daytime sitter, let me know!  I'm looking forward to the puppy 'play date', this summer!
 (I miss my lap buddy!)

***HOLLY COULD HAVE DIED!***

PLEASE, EVERYONE, check out this article:
'Toxic Plants, Flowers and Vegetables'
http://www.squidoo.com/toxic-plants-flowers-and-vegetables-for-dogs

Thank you PARENTS, for TAKING CARE of MY BABIES!
(I will stop breeding, when I don't think that there are any more decent and deserving families, that want healthy Papillons!)

Share your cute and funny stories with me!

This is how and why I do what I do...After spending as much time as I do taking care, getting to know, loving and then beginning the training of these puppies, I am not going to let them go, just anywhere...

I talk, extensively, with potential owners.  I have been known to tell people that I don't feel that a Papillon is the right dog for them and I explain why, as well.

I ONLY allow a puppy to go and live in a home that I feel is safe, where the parents will be able to and are willing to do what is necessary to take care of their new 'MEMBER OF THE FAMILY'

IF I feel that they will give him/her the needed attention and training, so that he/she will be the perfect companion, I will...

Let the PUPPY 'PICK' the PARENT!

All of this being said...

I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THESE PARENTS.

I HOPE THAT YOU CONTINUE TO

SEND UPDATED PICTURES and KEEP IN TOUCH!

(You live so close, we could have a REUNION! lol)

and then there was ONE!

Kinsey is the puppy that I waited for, for over two (2) years!

DOB 12/14/12

Little Kinsey is just that, she's little.

She was 2.4 lbs, on 2/9/13.

She's going to be a smaller Papillon.

I have wanted Kinsey's lineage.  I have her grandmother and had her grandfather.

Cooper, the grandfather, has a wonderful personality, great disposition, never met a stranger and was as light as a feather!

Kinsey (L) and Ginger (R) with siblings behind

When sitting next to Ginger (the largest of Trixie's litter), she looks tiny.
Ginger was almost twice as big as her siblings, at 6 weeks.
(We thought a C-section was going to be needed!)

Kinsey's mom was one of my previous puppies
and FINALLY got pregnant.
(I started panicking, immediately.)

She can fit in a large pocket
yet she's got he personality of a GIANT!

After waiting, so long, I adopted Holly and Trixie, rescued a Papillon (that I haven't been able to find the perfect home for) and moved, as well!

IT'S AN UNFORTUNATE SITUATION,

Trying to hide her under my keyboard!

I do not have room and cannot keep, this  sweet, little girl.

She has that perfect blaze, too!

All of this being said,
Kinsey NEEDS A SUPER GOOD HOME!

I'm already selective about where my puppies live and
she is EXTRA special to me.

Asleep, under my keyboard, with her siblings.

Asleep with Oreo (my smallest adult dog)

She's going to have a FANTASTIC personality and looks like she's going to be @ the size of her grandfather, which was @ 5.5lbs.

She gets excited, can get very spunky and be quite a pistol.  Afterwards, she will curl up in your lap, where she'll sleep for hours.

If you think that you have
the PERFECT home
and are the RIGHT PERSON to raise her, please get in touch with me!
678-383-9094

I continue to work on housebreaking.
(All of my other (4) puppies were housebroken, when they left.)

As the 'Grandmother', I will break all rules and spoil her, thoroughly!
I take her to work with me, each day!

Working with me!

Kinsey (L) with Ginger (R)

Here are two (2) girls that are looking for their FOREVER homes!

KINSEY - DOB 12/14/12

Kinsey is a cute little girl. She is feisty and can 'hold her own' with larger dogs.  Chewing on a Bully Stick or playing with a stuffed animal are just a couple of her favorite things.
She likes to play and run around outside.
When she comes in, she'll settle down in your lap and take a nap.

GINGER - DOB 12/10/12

Ginger is a sweet girl. She likes to run outside.
After she comes inside, she likes to play tug and chew on her Bully Stick or a real bone.
She'll sleep with you, on the couch or at your feet.

Puppies come veterinarian checked and UTD on shots and worming.  Pictures and Pedigrees their Parents are Available @ http://PapillonButterflyWorld.com
